U.S. News & World Report recently ranked Kingston Elementary and Old Donation School as the No. 1 elementary and middle schools in Virginia. Old Donation School, which has students in grades two through eight and is the home of the Edward E. Brickell Academy for Advanced Academics & Arts, was also ranked as the No. 2 elementary school in the state.

These businesses donate incentives for the White Oaks students for recognitions, including but not limited to, Student of the Month, Honor Roll, Principal's List, "BUG" Bringing-Up Grades Club, etc. VBSFCU hosts coin identification/ money value lessons for our kindergarteners. Farm Fresh showcases student art work quarterly as well as giving our younger students choral performance opportunities. Chick-Fil-A features an annual choral presentation from our 5th graders.
VFA-11 will be participating in the Adopt-A-School program sponsored though Parks & Recreation assisting with monthly grounds keeping as well as participating in volunteer opportunities throughout the year. In addition, the VR56 First class Association at Oceana donates pencils, markers, crayons, notebooks, paper, and glue to students in need at White Oaks Elementary at the beginning of each school year.
Students at White Oaks Elementary have the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs. The programs include: LAIR Club (Student Leadership/Responsibility Club), Safety Patrol, Student Hosts, PE helpers, the Environmental/Recycling Club, SCA (Student Council Association), Chorus, Spike’s Club (after-school tutoring), Strings, Library Pages, and the Daily Dragon Update Morning Show. Additionally, White Oaks hosts various clubs open to students showing interest including Spanish Club, Talent Show Club, Dragon Dashers, and Girls on The Run.
White Oaks Elementary has been recognized as an Energy Star School.
White Oaks Elementary is a Vanguard school concentrating in the area of instructional technology.
White Oaks' PTA was awarded the President's Award and President's pin from the Virginia Beach PTA and the Membership Increase Award from the VA State PTA.
